Having A Picnic Dinner On The Pont Des Arts

When dusk arrives, the crowds come out to the Pont Des Arts with their picnic dinners of baguettes, cheese and wine. Sometimes some musicians come out to play as well. It is a big party worth joining!

The Pont Des Arts is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the river Seine near the Louvre and is best known for the “Love Locks” that covered each side of the bridge. Lovers would “lock” their love by attaching a lock to the fence, that is, until the summer of 2015 when the city removed them due to fears that the entire railing structure would collapse. Supposedly the locks weighed a total of 45 tonnes.
